Starting a blog for my gaming channel has been an idea brewing for a while, and I’ve finally taken the plunge. If you’re wondering why I decided to add another platform to my content repertoire, it’s because I was inspired by a fellow creator, Wendy, known as HerCozyGaming. Her blog (shoutout to hercozygaming.com) showed me how blogging can create a deeper connection with an audience and serve as another way to grow a community. So, here I am, diving into this new venture to expand my reach and give you more ways to connect with me.
This blog is my space to share behind-the-scenes thoughts, walkthroughs, tutorials, game reviews, and more industry talk that doesn’t always fit into my videos. Think of it as a companion to my channel—a place where I can share what’s on my mind, unapologetically and filter-free, for the like-minded gamers out there. Plus, there’s an online store in the works where I’ll be dropping gaming and entertainment-themed T-shirts that I’m designing myself.
The Setup
Creating this blog was easier than I thought. I’m hosting it with GoDaddy and using a managed WordPress setup. Honestly, the process was so simple—it’s as if WordPress was made for people like me who want functionality without a huge learning curve. Using templates for the site helped me skip the hard parts, allowing me to focus on the content and aesthetics that reflect who I am.
Balancing It All
I’ll be posting once a week to start and working on balancing time between my channel and this blog. The goal is to make it seamless—both platforms feeding into each other to build a stronger community. I firmly believe a blog complements a gaming channel by giving your audience another layer of content to enjoy. For me, it’s about creating a space where I can be 100% myself, sharing honest opinions and thoughts with the hope of connecting with others who share the same vibes.
